Conditions can change throughout the working day. Measuring only once is not enough: the team should monitor the substrate, air and materials before, during and after application.
Measure the surface—not only the air
Ambient temperature does not necessarily represent the substrate. The surface may remain colder, creating condensation risk even when the room feels dry.
- Measure substrate and ambient temperature
- Record relative humidity
- Calculate or measure the dew point
- Keep the required margin above dew point
Condition the materials correctly
Products stored too cold or too warm can mix and apply differently. Keep sealed components within the storage and application conditions stated by the manufacturer.
Maintain a site record
Record measurements at agreed intervals and whenever conditions change. A simple log supports quality control and helps explain decisions made during installation.
