Safe installation starts before a container is opened. The work area, ventilation, personal protective equipment and emergency arrangements must be prepared for the exact products being used.
Use the SDS as the safety reference
Review the current Safety Data Sheet for every component and ensure it remains accessible on site. The SDS identifies hazards, protective equipment, first-aid measures, storage and disposal requirements.
- Brief the entire installation crew
- Check that PPE is suitable and in good condition
- Keep emergency contacts available
- Follow local health and safety rules
Control the work environment
Restrict access to the application area and provide ventilation appropriate to the product and location. Confined spaces require a dedicated assessment and additional controls.
- Maintain clear entrances and emergency exits
- Prevent ignition sources where applicable
- Store components in their original containers
- Keep food and drinks outside the work zone
Respond correctly to spills and waste
Plan spill containment and waste collection before work begins. Unused material, empty containers and contaminated consumables should be handled according to the SDS and local regulations.
